Somewhere around the turn of the millennium I started performing at spoken word nights around Darwin. I cherish intimacy, presenting intensely personal work in public spaces. Spoken word was my first literary love, and remains to be a faithful companion, taking me on adventures to stages around the world.
I’ve performed at hundreds of cafes, bars and festivals including Sydney Writers Festival, Ubud Writers Festival, Bookworm Festival, Makassar International Writers Festival and Woodford Folk festival. As Australian poetry slam champion in 2010, I toured internationally, performing in hip hop bunker bars in Beijing, floating lotus gardens in Bali and whiskey bars in the back streets of Chengdu.
My poetry and non fiction has also been published in literary journals across Australasia and online. You can get a copy of my chapbook Thicker than Water from PressPress and check out my advice to emerging writers here
